Sarah Jane Bridgland

Whilst living, teaching and performing as a violinist and viola player in Bermuda, Sarah sold her first oil and watercolour paintings through the local Bermuda Society of Arts.  On her return to the UK, she enjoyed working in Ceramics with Ben Barker, throwing on the wheel and also making sculptural pieces.

Sarah began the Foundation in Art and Design at West Dean College, near Chichester, expecting to take up Oil Painting but after seeing the beauty of Glass Fusion her focus immediately changed to this art form. The colours of the glass and the tactile nature of the finished pieces are so pleasing to the eye and touch.

Sarah makes hanging sun catchers, birds, butterflies, and sheep, dishes, spoon rests and dichroic glass for earrings and pendants. All her pieces are cut by hand meaning all are completely individual.
