Sue’s Sewing Tutorial – Helping the Artisans in India

Did you know? Sue Jones‘s latest visit to India sparked more than delight at the colours, textiles, and shapes of the local Jaipur textiles and patterns. Because of the epidemic, the artisans Sue met on the trip are really struggling to keep their livelihoods going. An Indian associate is now directly selling fabrics, garments and scarves. She asked Sue to help a women’s collective by making a video on how to make a simple zip pouch. The women speak no English and have only basic hand-driven sewing machines so it had to be a simple construction process, visually clear.
